Thanksgiving Day 2008

Share a bit of our Thanksgiving with us won't you?

Karen and Dad tear up the WII bowling!

This photo is my personal command operations center where all this blog stuff is "computed" from.

Note: I do not have domain on the largest monitor. GrandDad Prevatt bought WonderGrandmother an AWESOME 26" HDTV Monitor with 2 HDMI. She will be rocking the digititals as soon as they get it set up. Hopefully GrandDad will share a photo after it is setup.

Sweetest wife in the world Karen snaps fresh green beans for us to enjoy at Favorite Aunt Celeste's.

GrandDad scours the nets for great shopping deals as WonderMom prepares the broccoli salad!!!

This pie is mine, well we shared it and it was delicious!

Chili Night - Prevatt House

We provided a warm welcome to Mom and Dad who drove in from Alpharetta this morning. Joining Karen and I were Richmond and Erin / Nick and Britany.

Karen made a HUGE pot of chili a delicioso salad and the warmest, moistest cornbread ever. Dessert was pumpkin pie and the carrott cake that lasts for ever. Be it known, that Richmond ate the very slice I was saving for Favorite Aunt Holly.

FAH, we told Erin you wanted to see photos of her and Richmond and she was a very good sport! She passed muster when she joined me in adding jalepenos to the chili!!

Enjoy the photos, will some more from GrandDad's camera tomorrow.

Our New Parrot

Many of you did not know that Karen and I recently adopted a new Parrot. We got it from a Marine friend who was going overseas. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. Naturally, Karen was appalled.

I tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music, and anything else I could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, I was fed up and I yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. I shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.

So, in desperation, I threw up my hands, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.

Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that I'd hurt the parrot, I quickly opened the door to the freezer.
The parrot calmly stepped out onto my outstretched arms and said

"I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

I was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As I was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued,
"May I ask what the turkey did?"

51st Birthday Celebration

I got to celebrate twice this year. Returning to Jacksonville on Thursday afternoon, Karen had an awesome birthday dinner planned.

Nick and Britany joined us for meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas, corn and warm soft rolls. For dessert we savored a carrott cake from JJ's Bistro. Here is the evidence:

News Flash - Twins Celebrate Birthday

Following a successful visit to Jacksonville by Holly last weekend, Vernon repays the favor by visiting the Jones Family in Alpharetta.

Celebrating their 51st Birthday a day early,  the twins team together to count the years.

Holly prepared a delicious dinner.  We started with some homemade guac, then enjoyed a main course of shrimp scampi with pasta and spinach salad.  Veronica prepared a vanilla cake with butter cream frosting for dessert.  Wish you all were here!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Richmond seemed to be in fine spirits on Sunday, removing the ear protection and gause, we did not have to yell at him anymore.

Sunday afternoon was hectic, Sean, Richmond and I went to the Gun Store and then to Sonny's for lunch. Aunt Holly pall'ed around with Cari and Laurie. We really enjoyed the visit and look forward to the next one... no surgeries next time though.

Richmond - Recovery continues

We had a great afternoon of napping, TV watching and computing. After much encouragement, Favorite Aunt Holly whipped out the baking utensils and ingredients and made a very scrumptious batch or 3 of Snickerdoodles.

Strangely, Sean and the twins showed up exactly when the first batch of Snicks were coming out of the oven.

Please vicariously enjoy our Snicks and the photos below.
